sectional study

A series of drawings that take you on a journey through Perama Skill Exchange. This process was undertaken before the final assignment. Designing in section allowed us to explore the experiential qualities of a space without being held back by the final product. The idea of exchange is the main theme carried throughout the series of drawings. This includes the exchange between people, old and new architecture, ceiling and floor heights, indoor and outdoor, and light.

The final image shows the workshop which is situated across the road from the rest of the building. It is necessary to have large access points to the outside to bring in larger equipment as well as having access to natural light for the workspaces. There are also large viewing windows so that the public can come and watch what is happening inside.

melbourne field trip

Below is a collection of sketches and photographs from a field trip to Melbourne taken in the final semester of the Masters program. We visited a variety of different buildings and our task was to document, analyse, and present it alongside our sectional study.
